At 12 weeks pregnant my sister was stating how big I looked for my first trimester.  I felt quite proud to be carrying a big baby yet little did I know a week later; we would find out there is not one but two babies in there.  Since this discovery and throughout my entire pregnancy, I constantly get told ‘Wow you are so small’.  Weight is constantly on my mind and I’m conscious of eating snacks now in between meals to ensure I’m putting on enough.  I started to research how much I should be putting on for a twin pregnancy.  And the verdict is I’m doing well, sitting exactly where I should be.

I have added a few tables here for other twin mums to check how their weight is traveling.

Pregnancy week Length (cm) Mass (g)
20 weeks 25.6 cm 300 grams

CONCLUSION

Considering the information which I have found on various sites, I feel my weight gain is healthy and I feel good about it.  My last scan at 27.5 weeks stated the following:

Twin 1 Twin 2
996g / 2lbs 3ozs 1217g / 2lbs 11ozs
Head Circumference: 246.7mm Head Circumference: 259.9mm
Abdominal Circumference: 226.3mm Abdominal Circumference: 254.7mm
Femur Length: 49.2mm Femur Length: 48.7mm

So when I hear ‘Your small’, I take it as a compliment that you feel my figure is small but my babies are healthy.

Does anybody else get this constantly?
